Introduction to Guitar or Ukulele
- Start with instant chording & song accompaniment then develop skills for reading notation, picked strum and finger picking technique for Rock, Blues, Classical, Country and Folk styles.
Introduction to Electric Bass Guitar
- Playing bass is a blast! Learn to play using a variety of contemporary backingtracks.
- Develop fret position familiarity, alternating finger and pick skills.
Vocal Instruction
- Improve your speaking and singing voice.
- Develop breath control, vocal range, clarity of tone, and correct enunciation.
- Singing instruction uses the Bel Canto method to develop a seamless blending of vocal registers.
About the Instructor
Neil Janklow has over four decades of teaching, performing, and recording experience. He holds a BA with graduate studies in Instructional Design and has performed or recorded with artists including Cal Tjader, Stanley
Jordan, Michael Manring, Bo Diddley, Billy Preston, Pat Boone, Gary US Bonds, the Coasters, Drifters, Platters, and Marvelettes.

It is our pleasure to provide you with a reference for Neil Janklow as a music teacher.
For 10 years, Neil taught our three children to play piano and read music. His instruction was both methodical and flexible, providing foundational essentials but also allowing for the personal musical preferences of each of our kids.
His love of music is contagious and his patience with children is unparallelled. We enjoyed many wonderful recitals over the years when Neil would bring all of his students together to perform for an audience of family and friends.
When the world went virtual during the pandemic, Neil's weekly presence was steadfast in our home as he continued weekly lessons over Zoom. He also gave our daughter guitar lessons when she fell in love with Taylor Swift's music and decided she wanted to learn to play guitar too. We couldn't be more grateful to have had his musical instruction in our children's lives.

Neil Janklow is a wonderful music teacher! Neil's sessions are always positive and encouraging, and our family looks forward to music day. My three children have studied music with Neil for the past 13 years (piano and ukulele), and their sessions with Neil are the highlight of our week. Two of my children started playing with Neil when they were pre-K.
As a parent, I appreciate the way Neil reviews material, approaches challenges, and introduces new concepts. At the end of the sessions, my kids feel confident launching into the new material for the next week, or revisiting material that was challenging. When my children express an interest about a particular music subject, Neil will talk with them and find material to share with them. My kids feel confident to ask questions, explore new material, and make mistakes.
We all LOVE listening to Neil play, whether he is demonstrating a new concept, playing a piece he is working on, or explaining a musical style. Neil's enthusiasm for music is energizing.
